Violet is a powerful, award-winning musical about a young woman marked by a visible scar who sets out on a cross-country bus journey in search of healing and transformation.

Along the way, Violet encounters a world of unexpected connections, difficult truths, and moments of grace—ultimately discovering that beauty is far more complex and far more human than she ever imagined.

Winner of the Drama Critics’ Circle Award and the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Musical, Violet first premiered Off-Broadway in 1997 and later reached Broadway in a revised, Tony-nominated production in 2014. Its score blends American roots, folk, and gospel into a deeply moving theatrical experience.
